Atherosclerosis Statistics

Atherosclerosis is a condition in which the walls of the arteries become thickened and hardened due to the buildup of plaques. This buildup can lead to serious health issues, such as heart attack and stroke. Atherosclerosis is a major cause of morbidity and mortality around the world, and its prevalence continues to grow. Statistics from various sources show that the prevalence is highest among elderly adults and those at greater risk for cardiovascular disease. As this disease can be managed through lifestyle modifications, such as maintaining a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and avoiding smoking, it is essential to understand the prevalence of atherosclerosis in order to help prevent and reduce the impact of this condition.
