Geriatrics and Aging

Geriatrics is a medical specialty that focuses on the health and care of elderly people. Aging is a normal process of life, and geriatrics seeks to provide elderly people with the best possible care and quality of life. Geriatricians are specialists who work to diagnose, treat, and prevent age-related conditions and diseases, such as dementia, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and other chronic illnesses that can affect older individuals. Geriatric care also includes helping elderly people maintain a healthy lifestyle, manage mental health issues, and provide emotional and social support. Geriatrics and aging are important topics for all of us, as understanding and caring for our elderly population is essential to the overall wellbeing of society.
