Trans Fats
Trans fats are a type of unsaturated fat that has been chemically modified and produced through the process of hydrogenation. They are found in many processed foods, and their consumption has been linked to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Furthermore, trans fats can reduce the levels of beneficial HDL cholesterol and increase levels of harmful LDL cholesterol. For these reasons, trans fats have become the focus of public health campaigns and have been banned in many countries.
