Scramblase
Scramblase is an enzyme that helps cells to rapidly transfer phospholipids from one side of a membrane to the other. This process, known as transbilayer movement, is important for many cellular processes, including cell development and signal transduction. Scramblase helps regulate glycolipid membrane composition and is also important for cholesterol homeostasis. Its role in these processes makes it a crucial enzyme for many physiological processes, including cell differentiation and inflammation. Furthermore, dysregulation of scramblase has been linked to a variety of diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, and other metabolic disorders. As such, it is an important target for therapeutic interventions.
