Prostaglandins

Prostaglandins are molecules produced in cells by the action of certain enzymes. They are important mediators of a wide range of physiological processes, such as inflammation, autonomic nervous system regulation, and pain perception. They also play a role in the regulation of blood pressure, platelet aggregation, and mucous production. Prostaglandins are widely used in clinical and pharmaceutical settings to treat a variety of conditions, including pain, heart disease, asthma, and migraines. In addition, they have been studied for their potential applications in cancer therapy. Increased understanding of the role of prostaglandins in health and disease has opened up new opportunities for medical intervention and has been a major boon to healthcare providers.
