Polysaccharides
Polysaccharides are complex polymeric carbohydrates, consisting of long chain monosaccharide molecules, linked together by glycosidic bonds. Polysaccharides are essential components of both plant and animal cells, and are involved in energy storage, cell signalling and structural support. They are also used to produce a variety of products for medical, industrial, and food applications, such as the development of drugs, vaccines and food additives. Polysaccharides are important for their various beneficial properties and roles in various biological processes.
