Methylene Chloride

Methylene chloride, also known as dichloromethane, is an organic compound used in many industrial processes. It is commonly used as a solvent in paint stripping products, aerosols, metal cleaning and degreasing, and as a chemical intermediate in the production of pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and other chemicals. It is also used in food processing, as it has a low boiling point and can be used to extract flavors and aroma from food. Methylene chloride has been associated with adverse health effects due to its usage and inhalation, including central nervous system depression and cancer. Therefore, its handling and disposal must be done safely to protect the environment and human health.
