Lipoproteins
Lipoproteins are an important type of biomolecule consisting of a combination of fat (lipid) and protein. They are essential for our body's biological functions and for transporting lipids and lipids-soluble nutrients around our body. Lipoproteins also play a role in cellular metabolism and help us metabolize cholesterol and other lipids. They are also important for our immune system and are involved in various processes such as the inflammation response and cell-signaling. In addition, they are involved in the formation of atherosclerotic plaques in blood vessels, increasing the risk of heart disease and stroke. Therefore, understanding lipoproteins and their interactions with other molecules is vital for our health and wellbeing.
