Lipolysis
Lipolysis is the process of the breakdown of lipids, such as triglycerides, by hydrolysis into fatty acids and glycerol. It is an important pathway for energy production and storage in organisms. Lipolysis is also a key component in the regulation of body fat levels by releasing fatty acids from stored triglycerides into the blood stream. This process is used in cosmetic treatments and obesity treatments, as it helps to reduce fat deposits in the body. Lipolysis can also be employed for the extraction of various lipids and fatty acids from plants and animals for use in the production of food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic products.
