Isoprenoid
Isoprenoids are organic compounds consisting of isoprene units linked together. They are important components of the photosynthesis process, carrying energy from light to the cells in plants. Isoprenoids are also essential components of a wide range of other biological molecules and processes, including steroids, plant pigments, and vitamins. In addition, isoprenoids are found in many applications outside of the biological realm, such as fragrances, spices, flavors, and even drugs. Isoprenoids are essential for human health, as well as for the health of many other species.
