Eicosanoids
Eicosanoids are lipid molecules derived from fatty acids of 20 carbons. They are signaling molecules that are involved in many aspects of human health, such as coronary heart disease, asthma, and inflammation. They are synthesized from essential fatty acids, which are essential for normal physiological function. Eicosanoids are very important and have multifaceted roles in the human body, such as controlling inflammation, regulating blood pressure, and promoting tissue repair. Because of their central role in various diseases, eicosanoids have been studied extensively in recent years and are now being explored as potential therapeutic agents. This has the potential to revolutionize treatment of many diseases.
