Biosynthesis
Biosynthesis is the process by which living organisms produce the molecules necessary for their growth, development and survival. It is a complex set of chemical reactions involving enzymes, substrates and other molecules, and it is important to virtually all forms of life. Biosynthesis occurs in both plants and animals and can be used to produce a wide range of molecules like carbohydrates, proteins, nucleic acids, and lipids. Additionally, it can also be used to produce medicines, biofuels and other important products. Through biosynthesis, organisms are capable of transforming simple molecules into more complex and useful ones.
