Biophysics
Biophysics is the study of the physical and chemical principles underlying biological processes and systems. It combines the principles and methodologies of traditional physical sciences such as physics, chemistry and mathematics with those of life sciences such as biology and genetics. Its importance lies in understanding biological processes in terms of the physical laws that govern them. This understanding is applicable to a wide range of areas such as biomedicine, biochemistry, biotechnology, and bioengineering. Additionally, biophysical techniques are commonly used to study the structure and function of biological molecules such as proteins, DNA and RNA strands. Through this understanding, the development of medical treatments and diagnostic procedures, as well as the design of systems and tools for biotech research, are possible.
