Remote Sensing
Remote sensing is the process of gathering information about an object or area from a distance, usually from aircrafts or satellites. This information is used in numerous applications such as agricultural monitoring, disaster management, urban planning, oceanography and environmental protection. It uses specialized sensors to collect data from the electromagnetic spectrum, especially visible light, infrared, and radio waves. The data can then be used to create images that are invaluable for understanding the environment around us. Remote sensing has proven useful for monitoring changes in the environment and in detecting changes caused by human activities. It is also used to track changes in climate over time. The data gathered through remote sensing is an invaluable tool for making better decisions and taking appropriate actions.
