Oceanography
Oceanography, also known as marine science, is the study of the ocean and its physical and biological properties, including its waters and its living and non-living contents. This is a valuable field of science that provides insight into the various geophysical, chemical, biological, and geological processes that occur in the world's oceans, as well as those that affect it. Its findings are essential in knowledge for climate change, global warming, and numerous other environmental problems. Oceanography also helps scientists gain an understanding of the ocean's composition and its integral role in the global climate system. The implications for humanity are profound as oceanography gives us a better understanding of our changing environment, allowing us to make better decisions about ocean governance. Oceanography is used by multiple industries in the production of food, transportation, energy, and recreation. In addition, oceanography has contributed to the advancement of our understanding of marine life and ecosystems, helping us to protect and conserve them.
