Hydrology

Hydrology is the scientific study of the movement, distribution, and quality of water on Earth and other planets, including the water cycle, water resources and environmental watershed sustainability. It is a critical component of Earth's water cycle, which is vital to sustaining life on the planet. Hydrology has applications in flood control, irrigation, ecosystem management and groundwater management. It is also important for understanding climatic changes, predicting droughts and floods, and assessing water quality.
