Specimen Disruption

Specimen disruption is the physical or chemical process of breaking down a biological specimen so its components may be analyzed or studied at the molecular level. It is an essential step in the study of biology, making it possible to analyze the components of any given specimen. Specimen disruption is used in a number of biological applications, such as assessing the genetic makeup of an organism, tracking gene expression, analyzing the structure and function of proteins, and studying the effects of different treatments. The ability to disrupt a specimen enables researchers to gain valuable insight into the fundamental properties of life.
