Rinderpest
Rinderpest, also known as cattle plague, is a highly contagious and fatal viral disease that affects cattle, buffaloes, and other hoofed animals. It is a major cause of livestock loss in Africa and the Middle East, and has a global significance to the agricultural and food production industry. Rinderpest has been nearly eradicated worldwide, as a result of an international immunization campaign, and it is considered one of the greatest success stories of global disease control. Vaccines are extremely effective in controlling and preventing its spread, and immunization is still required in some parts of the world.
