Pain
Management Pain management is the process of minimizing pain and discomfort to improve the quality of life of individuals suffering from acute and/or chronic pain. It is an interdisciplinary approach involving a variety of medical professionals such as physiatrists (specialists in rehabilitation medicine), psychologists, physical therapists, and anesthesiologists. It involves a wide range of techniques and methods, such as medications, physical therapy, lifestyle changes, and alternative treatments, to reduce and/or manage a patient's pain. Pain management is essential for improving the quality of life for people suffering from chronic pain, as it can help reduce disability and improve physical, mental, and emotional functioning.
