Ophthalmia

Neonatorum Ophthalmia Neonatorum is an eye infection in newborns caused by bacteria, usually from the mother, entering the eye during birth. It is the most common eye infection in newborns and can lead to significant visual impairment if left untreated. Ophthalmia Neonatorum is treated with antibiotic eyedrops or topical ointments. Early diagnosis and treatment are essential in preventing serious vision problems in the baby.
