Meningoencephalitis

Meningoencephalitis is an inflammation of the brain and the surrounding meninges (the protective membranes covering the brain and spinal cord). It is caused by a variety of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites, and can lead to serious health issues. Symptoms include fever, headache, confusion, seizures, difficulty moving and speaking, and in some cases, coma. Treatment usually involves antibiotics, antifungals and antivirals, and in severe cases, surgery may be required. Meningoencephalitis is a serious and potentially life-threatening condition, and prompt medical attention is essential for a successful outcome. Early detection and timely treatment are key to preventing long-term complications.
