Endocarditis

Endocarditis is an infection of the inner lining of the heart, known as the endocardium. It is commonly causes by bacteria, but can also be caused by viruses and other microorganisms. Endocarditis can lead to serious complications such as damage to the heart valves, heart failure, stroke, and even death. Treatment usually involves antibiotics and for more serious cases, valve replacement surgery. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment are essential to improve outcomes and reduce the risk of complications. Endocarditis is an important medical condition to be aware of and, if caught early, can help reduce the risk of serious complications.
