C-reactive Proteins
C-reactive proteins (CRP) are a type of protein found in the blood. These proteins are released into the bloodstream in response to inflammation in the body, such as in the case of an infection or injury. CRP levels in the body can indicate the presence of such an inflammatory process, and they can be used as an indicator of overall health. High levels of CRP may suggest that a person has an active infection or another inflammatory condition, while low levels may indicate that there is no inflammation present. Therefore, measuring CRP levels can help doctors to evaluate and diagnose various medical conditions.
