Bronchitis
Bronchitis is a condition that affects the airways of the lungs. It is caused by inflammation of the bronchial tubes and can be either acute or chronic. Acute bronchitis is usually brought on by a viral infection and is most common during winter months, while chronic bronchitis is usually caused by smoking or other irritants and is more common in adults. Symptoms of bronchitis include difficulty breathing, a cough, and chest discomfort. Treatment for bronchitis often includes bronchodilators, antibiotics, and corticosteroids, depending on the severity of the infection. It is important to manage bronchitis to prevent further damage to the airways and the development of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
