Streptococcal Infections
Streptococcal infections are a group of infections caused by transferable, microscopic bacteria known as streptococci. These bacteria can cause a range of minor illnesses such as sore throat, ear infections, and skin infections, as well as serious, life-threatening illnesses such as meningitis, sepsis, and rheumatic fever. Streptococcal infections are most commonly spread through contact with an infected person and can be treated with antibiotics. Early detection and treatment of streptococcal infections are essential for reducing the risk of potentially life-threatening complications.
