akumar D Sivakumar D is a Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California, Davis. He is an active researcher in the field of computational fluid mechanics with a focus on high-fidelity numerical methods and their application to industrial problems. His primary research topics include numerical methods, turbulence modeling, aeroacoustics, and flow control. His research is recognized for its contributions to the understanding of complex and realistic flows, and to the development of scalable, robust and efficient numerical methods. His research has been applied to a variety of industrial problems, including jet and rocket noise, jet propulsion, aircraft icing, and pressurized fluids. Professor Sivakumar’s research has improved the accuracy of simulations, leading to better designs and improved safety in the aerospace and automotive industries. He is a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the American Physical Society.
