Protozoan Infections
Protozoan Infections are parasitic infections caused by microscopic unicellular organisms known as protozoa. These parasites are commonly found in contaminated food and water, and can be transmitted through contact with an animal or insect. Symptoms of protozoan infections can include diarrhoea, abdominal cramps, fatigue, and fever. Treatment includes antibiotics and antiprotozoal medications. Protozoan infections can have serious health implications and individuals must take precautions to prevent infection. Proper hygiene, safe food and water, and avoiding contact with animals and insects can help to reduce the risk of contracting a protozoan infection. Early diagnosis and treatment are important, as some protozoan infections can be life-threatening.
