Pediatric Infections
Pediatric infections are any infectious diseases, including bacterial, viral, and fungal infections, that affect infants and children. These infections can cause severe illness, long-term disability, and even death. Early detection and appropriate treatment are essential for managing pediatric infections, as children are more vulnerable to complications and morbidity due to their immature and rapidly developing immune system. Vaccination remains the most important method of prevention and is key to reducing the burden of pediatric infections. Pediatricians and other healthcare providers play an important role in diagnosing, preventing, and treating these infections in young patients.
