Hemorrhagic Fevers
Hemorrhagic fevers are a group of illnesses that cause severe bleeding and organ failure. These illnesses are typically caused by viruses, and can range from mild to life-threatening. Symptoms may include fever, muscle aches, headaches, diarrhea, vomiting, and rash. In more severe cases, organ failure, loss of consciousness, and bleeding from the nose, mouth, and ears may occur. Treatment usually involves supportive care and antiviral medications, depending on the specific cause. Hemorrhagic fevers are a serious public health concern, as outbreaks can be caused by several different viruses and can spread quickly. Awareness and proper preventative measures are essential for keeping outbreaks under control.
