Fevers

Fevers, also known as pyrexia, are a common symptom of many illnesses and diseases. It is a sign that the body is attempting to fight off an infection. Fevers occur when the body’s temperature rises above normal levels and is usually accompanied by shivering, headaches, and general malaise. Fevers are a useful indicator of health and can provide early warning signs of illness. Treatments such as cooling blankets and antipyretic drugs can be used to reduce fevers and can be beneficial in alleviating symptoms and improving the overall health of the patient.
