Endovascular Infections
Endovascular infections are infections of the blood vessels caused by bacteria or fungi, which can lead to sepsis and multiple organ failure. They are a major cause of mortality and morbidity, especially in patients in intensive care units, where the risks of unmonitored bacterial and fungal infections of the vascular system are high. Endovascular infections can be prevented or treated by timely and appropriate interventions, such as antibiotic therapies, endovascular treatments, and surgical techniques. Proper diagnosis and management of endovascular infections can reduce mortality and morbidity and improve the outcomes of patients.
