Campylobacter Jejuni

Campylobacter jejuni is a type of bacteria that is found in the digestive tract of humans and animals. It is one of the leading causes of diarrheal illness and is responsible for most cases of bacterial gastroenteritis in humans. It can also cause abdominal pain, nausea, fever, and vomiting. In some cases, it can lead to more serious illnesses such as Guillain-Barre syndrome, a potentially life-threatening complication. Treatment includes antibiotics and supportive care. Prevention includes thorough handwashing and food preparation practices. Campylobacter jejuni is an important public health concern due to its ability to cause food-borne illnesses and its prevalence in a variety of environments.
