Bronchodilators
Bronchodilators are medications that open up the airways within the lungs. They are used to treat asthma and other breathing conditions, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), that are characterized by a narrowing of the airways. Bronchodilators work by relaxing the muscles around the airways, allowing them to open up and allowing air to pass through more freely. They are typically taken in the form of inhalers, tablets, or syrup. In addition to their primary role in improving breathing, bronchodilators can also help reduce inflammation, improve mucus secretion, and improve overall lung function. Bronchodilators are an essential part of managing the symptoms of asthma and COPD and can help improve quality of life for those managing these conditions.
