Petroleum Hydrocarbons

Petroleum hydrocarbons are organic compounds composed primarily of hydrogen and carbon atoms and formed naturally in the Earth’s crust. They are found in crude oil, natural gas, and bitumen, and have a wide range of uses due to their versatile chemical and physical properties. Petroleum hydrocarbons can be used as a source of energy in a variety of ways, such as heating, the production of electricity, and powering engines. Additionally, they are used as raw materials in the manufacture of fuels, lubricants, plastics, pharmaceuticals, and other chemical products. Petroleum hydrocarbons are an important resource for modern societies, contributing significantly to global economic development.
