Thumbs
ucking Thumbsucking is a normal behaviour in babies and young children. It is a comforting behaviour that helps them to relax, especially when they feel anxious or lonely. It can provide a sense of security and is believed to be part of a normal infant and toddler development. As the child grows older, however, thumbsucking can lead to potential dental problems such as an open bite, tongue thrusting, and misalignment of the upper and lower jaws. If prolonged, it may need to be addressed and corrected by an orthodontist. Thumbsucking is a significant habit that can have lasting effects on oral health and should be monitored and managed as the child grows.
