Symphyses

Symphyses are specialized joints that are located in the midline of the body between two bones and provide a strong but relatively flexible connection. They are commonly found in the jaw, the pubic region, and where two vertebrae join together. These joints are significant for two reasons: they allow for movement in multiple directions and therefore provide stability to the body, and they absorb the shock of movement. They are often used by athletes to increase flexibility and protect the spine from injury. Symphyses are also helpful in medical treatments such as reconstructive surgery to help fix abnormalities in the spine.
