Shoulders

The shoulder is a complex joint involving both bones and muscles. It is critical to the movement of the arms and ability to perform activities like lifting and reaching. The muscles that control shoulder motion are located in the back, front, and top of the shoulder area. The shoulder also allows for the use of fine motor skills, such as writing and typing. The shoulder is a stabilizing joint that needs to be strengthened and protected throughout the lifespan to avoid injury. It is important to exercise the shoulder correctly and perform stretches to maintain a healthy range of motion. Proper posture and body mechanics are also important elements in maintaining healthy shoulders.
