Respiratory System Anatomy
The respiratory system is an essential component of the human body responsible for providing oxygen to cells and eliminating waste products. It is made up of the nose, throat, trachea, bronchi, lungs, and diaphragm. Its primary functions are the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the body and sound production. The anatomy of the respiratory system is critical for proper functioning and health, as it helps ensure efficient exchange of gases, proper air flow through the airways, and proper ventilation of the lungs. An understanding of the respiratory system anatomy is important for the diagnosis and treatment of various respiratory disorders, diseases, and injuries, such as asthma, tuberculosis, pneumonia, and COPD.
