Reproductive System Anatomy
The reproductive system anatomy consists of the organs and structures responsible for sexual reproduction. It consists of the male and female reproductive systems, composed of external and internal organs. The male reproductive system consists of the testes, penis, and other associated glands; while the female reproductive system consists of the ovaries, uterus, and other associated glands. Both systems also contain ducts which permit the exchange of reproductive materials. Development and maintenance of the reproductive system is highly important in the formation of a healthy and successful pregnancy. Additionally, reproductive system anatomy plays a major role in the adequate study of fertility and infertility.
