Musculoskeletal Anatomy

Musculoskeletal anatomy is the scientific study of the structures and functions of the muscles and bones of the human body. It is critical to understanding how the body moves, maintains posture and carries out everyday activities. It is also important in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions, such as arthritis and fractures. The knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy enables healthcare professionals to effectively assess, diagnose and treat musculoskeletal disorders. In addition, this knowledge is essential for professionals in physical therapy, sports medicine and other medical fields. Understanding musculoskeletal anatomy also assists in the design and development of prosthetic devices, surgical instruments, and sports-related equipment.
