Craniopharyngioma
Craniopharyngioma is a rare, slow-growing, non-cancerous (benign) brain tumor that develops near the pituitary gland and hypothalamus, located at the base of the brain. It typically affects children and young adults. Symptoms of craniopharyngioma can vary depending on the size and location of the tumor, and can include headaches, vision changes, endocrine problems, difficulty with balance, and fatigue. Treatment usually involves surgery, radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy. Craniopharyngioma is an important type of tumor to recognize and diagnose because of its potential to cause a range of physical and mental health issues. With early diagnosis and treatment, outcomes can be greatly improved, making it essential to seek medical attention if any of the above symptoms are present.
