Clitoris

The clitoris is an organ of the female reproductive system which is located in the vulva. It is a small, sensitive organ that plays an important role in sexual pleasure and orgasm. The clitoris is covered by a hood of skin, and contains thousands of nerve endings, making it the most sensitive organ of the female body. It is made up of erectile tissues that fill with blood when aroused, similar to the penis. During stimulation the clitoris can become engorged just like the penis, which is why it is often referred to as the “female penis.” By stimulating the clitoris, a woman can reach orgasm more easily, and the intensity of the orgasm can be quite strong. The clitoris is an important organ for sexual pleasure for women, and understanding its anatomy and function is key for women to maximize their sexual satisfaction.
