Cephalometry

Cephalometry is an imaging technique used to measure the size of the head and facial structures. The method is commonly used by orthodontists and maxillofacial surgeons to plan and execute treatment, as well as track changes over time. Cephalometric images provide a wealth of information, including the size and shape of the face, the size of the mouth, and the relative position of the teeth, jaws, and other facial features. The technique is also used to assess facial asymmetries, dental occlusions, and other craniofacial anomalies. By taking detailed measurements of the head and face, cephalometry allows clinicians to assess and plan treatments that are tailored to the patient’s anatomy and lead to the desired outcome.
