Carotid Arteries

Carotid arteries are two major arteries located on either side of the neck that supply oxygen-rich blood to the brain and face. They are essential for normal brain functioning and play a vital role in the body’s circulatory system. Damage to the carotid arteries can lead to stroke, heart attack, and other life-threatening conditions. Therefore, it is important to keep them healthy through regular check-ups and lifestyle modifications, such as maintaining a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and quitting smoking. Carotid arteries can also be checked for narrowing or blockages through ultrasound tests, carotid artery endarterectomy surgery, and other special imaging techniques.
