Bronchioles

Bronchioles are tiny tubes within the airways of the lungs. They are responsible for delivering air to and from the alveoli, the tiny air sacs where oxygen is exchanged for carbon dioxide. Bronchioles are important for the normal function of the lungs, providing a large surface area for efficient gas exchange to occur. Bronchioles also produce mucus, which helps to keep the lungs clean and the airways open. Dysfunction of the bronchioles can lead to a variety of respiratory conditions, from asthma to COPD, so it is important to keep them healthy and functioning properly.
