Valvular Heart Disease
Valvular Heart Disease (VHD) is a condition in which the heart valves don't work properly, causing blood to flow abnormally and leading to heart failure or other complications. This condition is caused by a number of factors such as aging, rheumatic fever, infections, and genetic disorders. VHD can be treated with medications, lifestyle changes, and sometimes surgery. Its early detection is crucial for successful treatment and overall prognosis of the patient. Understanding VHD, its causes, and risk factors are important for doctors to diagnose and treat patients. If left untreated, it can lead to stroke, heart attack, or even death.
