Heart Defects
Heart defects are abnormalities in the structure of the heart or the blood vessels surrounding it. They can be congenital (present at birth) or may develop later in life. Many heart defects can cause severe problems such as irregular heartbeat, heart failure, and even death. Treatment often involves surgery, medications, and lifestyle changes to reduce their risk. With advances in medical technology, more heart defects can be detected and treated. This can improve a person’s quality of life and reduce their risk of heart-related complications.
