Heart Attack
A heart attack is a medical emergency caused by a blockage of the coronary artery leading to the heart muscle. This blockage causes a reduction in blood flow to the heart, leading to pain, shortness of breath, and other serious medical complications. The lack of blood and oxygen can cause permanent damage to the heart muscle, leading to heart failure and even death. Treatment for a heart attack includes angioplasty, in which a catheter is used to clear the blocked artery, and medications to reduce pain and the risk of further heart damage. Knowing the warning signs of a heart attack can help save lives by ensuring quick medical attention, and lifestyle changes such as eating healthier, exercising regularly, and quitting smoking can reduce the risk of developing a heart attack.
