Echocardiogram
An echocardiogram is an ultrasound test that creates images of your heart. It can help your doctor diagnose and evaluate any problems with your heart’s structure and function. It can assess the size, shape and motion of your heart’s chambers, valves and walls; detect areas of poor blood flow; and evaluate the effectiveness of treatments. Echocardiograms are used to diagnose multiple heart problems including abnormal heartbeat and weakened heart muscle, as well as to monitor the progress of a heart condition. They are non-invasive, safe and widely available.
