Cardiomyopathy
Cardiomyopathy is a condition affecting the heart muscle, making it thicker, enlarged and/or weaker than usual. It can lead to various cardiac problems, including heart arrhythmia, heart failure, and sudden cardiac death. This condition can have a number of causes, from genetic predisposition, to viral and bacterial infections, to chronic stress and hypertension, to the use of certain medications. Treatment involves lifestyle modification and in some cases, cardiac medications, devices or surgery may be required. Early diagnosis and management of cardiomyopathy is important to ensure the best possible outcome.
